Whats up?

: The second (or was it third?) retirement looks to be drawing to a close now. After 8 fun months consulting in London, Helen and I took off for a long break in the Roadtrek. The : I've been running around like an idiot for the last month getting the kitchen finally sorted - only 1 year and two sets of contractors later. And we're almost there now ... everythings back in place, and its just the projector to hook up and the roof to finish painting. It hasnt really sunk in yet - but its a relief and I'm sure all family and friends will be pleased to not have to hear of our woes any more.

: The family firm is up and running now as Sweet Consulting Services Ltd and will be a vehicle for both myself and Helen, whos client list goes from strenght to strength, with the likes of DWP and Hitachi joining recently. Gavin is still in touch with the Mosaic Island boys, and we're doing a review of the long Which? contract shortly.

: More interestingly, I'm now getting involved with the NetStart, following the Leeds BarCamp at Old Broadcasting House in November where I met up with Lee Strafford (ex CEO Plusnet). Lee and I have been "aware" of each other for a while since Freeserve looked at buying Plusnet back in the mists of time, and I handled the diligence work with Kev.

: NetStart looks like a great idea to fill a real need - providing Tech Startup incubation services to the Yorkshire community, sitting in between RDA's, VC's, Universities and the community at large. In addition, technical services can support the development of propositions coming through the NetStart... So, thats the idea and I'm really looking forward to getting involved, committing a substantial chunk of my time for the foreseeable short term.
